(OROVILLE, CA) – This afternoon, after ongoing discussions with district superintendents and charter leaders, as well as Butte County Public Health, and at the urging of our State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Butte County Superintendent of Schools Mary Sakuma announced her decision to extend the closure of school campuses in Butte County for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, while focusing on distance learning for students.
We would like to assure you we are here! We are working, like everyone in your communities to figure out the best plan to continue your educational journey, but most importantly provide the support that you need to get through these uncharted waters. We are all in this together and your Ipakanni Family is still available as you need us!
We are making calls right now to assess the needs of each of our students. We will be delivering computers as needed and helping students get connected to the internet if they do not currently have services. We will also be mailing and delivering packets and school supplies as needed. Right now, we ask that you do the following:
Get the Remind app on your phone if you haven't already done so
Call the school with updated information if you have NOT received a call from one of our staff members
Check this website for additional information as we will keep it updated as receive more information.
Stay safe and know we are just a computer screen away!
